2022 Viognier

2022 Viognier

Classic viognier aromas of lychee, orange blossom, apricot, orange zest and striking minerality captivate the senses. The wine's attack has tell-tale viognier viscosity that quickly transitions to uplifting, acid-driven verve. The retro-nasal flavors are dominated by stone fruit and white blossoms with the minerally "rain-on-warm- pavement" nuance adding intrigue. The 2022 Viognier is quintessentially viognier from start to finish, making it a fantastic wine to share with friends and family who don't yet know the pleasures of viognier.

All barrel fermented in used oak and without any malolactic fermentation, the 2022 Viognier is a blend of fruit from Napa County (71%) and Sonoma County (29%). It's nicely fruity and complex on the nose, with gentle florals and dried spices accenting melon and apricot fruit, then it's medium to full-bodied, creamy and lush in the mouth, with a broad but lingering finish.

Candied lychee and rose blossom nose to palate combine in a pleasing texture and mouthfeel producing classic viognier and a hearty finish with a lot of persistence. — Elaine Chukan Brown

The 2022 Viognier is gorgeous in the way it captures the varietal character, freshness and energy. Apricot, ginger, jasmine, spice and mint abound. At a time when so many California Viogniers have become excessively lean and non-varietal, the Pride Viognier is exactly what Viognier is supposed to be.
